Pamukkale, Hierapolis – An Amazing Place To See!
Pamukkale, also known as Cotton Castle, is a beautiful natural site in Turkey. The travertine terraces were formed over time by the flow of thermal springs. The calcium-rich water deposits layers of travertine on the cliffs.
Pamukkale is home to the ancient city of Hierapolis, which was founded by Greek settlers in the 2nd century BC. The ruins of the city are a UNESCO World Heritage Site. Hierapolis was known for its therapeutic hot springs, and people would come from all over to bathe in them.
The city also had a large temple dedicated to Apollo, the god of healing. Today, you can still see the ruins of the temple, as well as the Roman baths. Pamukkale is an amazing place to visit and it’s definitely worth adding to your travel list!
